Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to NIZAM: International Journal of Islamic Studies undergo an initial screening by the Editorial Board to ensure alignment with the journal’s scope and basic requirements. A plagiarism check is then performed using plagiarism detection tools.

The journal applies a double-blind peer review system, meaning both the authors’ and reviewers’ identities are kept confidential throughout the review process.

Review Policy:

  1. All submitted manuscripts are reviewed by at least two independent reviewers.

  2. Reviewers assess the relevance of the title, abstract, findings, and conclusions; the novelty and originality of the research; its scientific contribution and impact; and the adequacy and accuracy of references.

  3. The final decision (accept, revise, or reject) is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on reviewers’ recommendations and editorial board considerations.


Publication Frequency

NIZAM: International Journal of Islamic Studies is published twice a year (May and November), with each issue containing a minimum of five (5) articles.


Open Access Policy

All content of this journal is openly accessible and free to read, download, copy, and distribute for educational, research, and library purposes, in accordance with open access principles.


Plagiarism Check

The journal uses TURNITIN to screen all submitted manuscripts for plagiarism prior to publication.


Publication Ethics

NIZAM: International Journal of Islamic Studies is a peer-reviewed journal committed to upholding the highest ethical standards of publication. This statement is based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines and applies to all parties involved: authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.


Editor Ethics
  • Ensure thorough, transparent, objective, and fair review of manuscripts.

  • Decide on publication based on editorial policies and board meetings.

  • Provide clear author guidelines and ensure manuscripts meet review requirements.

  • Remain impartial regardless of authors’ gender, ethnicity, religion, or affiliation.

  • Maintain confidentiality and never misuse submitted manuscripts for personal gain.

  • Return unpublished manuscripts to authors without unauthorized use.


Reviewer Ethics
  • Provide objective, clear, and constructive recommendations within the agreed timeframe (typically 3 weeks).

  • Maintain impartiality and confidentiality throughout the review process.

  • Evaluate manuscripts solely on academic merit, regardless of authors’ background.

  • Ensure references and citations are accurate and appropriate.


Author Ethics
  • Submit original manuscripts resulting from their own research or thought.

  • Avoid plagiarism, data manipulation, and duplicate submission to other journals.

  • Properly cite and reference works of others.

  • Accept editorial revisions that do not alter the core content of the manuscript.

  • Comply with publication ethics to avoid conflicts of interest.


Publisher Ethics
  • Oversee the entire publication process, including editing, peer review, and layout, according to scholarly publishing standards.

  • Safeguard academic freedom for editors and reviewers.

  • Protect confidentiality, intellectual property rights, and editorial independence.
