Publication Ethics
NIZAM: International Journal of Islamic Studies is a peer-reviewed journal available online and published twice a year. This code of conduct outlines the minimum ethical standards expected from all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, the editor-in-chief, editorial board members, reviewers, and the journal manager/publisher. This statement is based on the principles set out by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Editor Ethics

The editor is responsible for thoroughly, transparently, objectively, and fairly reviewing submitted manuscripts.

The editor has the authority to decide whether a manuscript is accepted for publication, following editorial board discussions and in accordance with copyright laws, anti-plagiarism policies, and ethical standards.

The editor must provide clear and accessible author guidelines and ensure that all manuscripts are reviewed by qualified reviewers.

The editor must remain objective and impartial, treating manuscripts without bias regarding gender, ethnicity, religion, nationality, or other personal attributes of the author.

The editor and editorial team must maintain confidentiality and must not disclose or misuse information from submitted manuscripts for personal gain.

Unpublished manuscripts must not be used for the editor’s personal research and must be returned to the authors if rejected.
Reviewer Ethics

Reviewers are responsible for providing clear, objective, constructive, and timely evaluations of manuscripts (within three weeks).

Reviewers must maintain confidentiality and must not use manuscript content for personal gain.

Reviews must be conducted objectively, without personal bias or discrimination, and only in support of scientific integrity.

Reviewers must verify the accuracy of citations and references in the manuscript.
Author Ethics

Authors must ensure that their manuscript is original, based on their own research or ideas, free from data fabrication, falsification, or plagiarism.

The manuscript must not have been previously published or submitted elsewhere. Any simultaneous submission to other journals will result in rejection.

Authors must properly cite and reference all sources used.

Authors agree that their manuscript may undergo editing without altering its core content or meaning.

Authors must comply with this publication ethics statement to prevent conflicts of interest and ensure smooth processing of their manuscript.
Journal Manager/Publisher Ethics

The journal manager/publisher is responsible for ensuring that all published articles undergo proper peer review, editing, and production processes in accordance with academic publishing standards.

The journal manager/publisher must guarantee academic freedom for editors and reviewers in fulfilling their roles.

The journal manager/publisher is responsible for maintaining confidentiality, protecting intellectual property rights, and upholding editorial independence.
