Asuhan Keperawatan Ny. S dengan Pemberian Perasan Labu Siam (Sechium edule) untuk Menurunkan Tekanan Darah pada Pasien Hipertensi

Abstract

Hypertension is a chronic disease that can lead to various serious complications if not properly managed, including stroke, myocardial infarction, atherosclerosis, rupture of blood vessels in the brain and kidneys, chronic kidney failure, and hypertensive encephalopathy, which may result in decreased consciousness or even coma. Therefore, appropriate management is essential through both pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies. This scientific paper aims to implement nursing care for Mrs. S by administering chayote (Sechium edule) juice therapy to help reduce blood pressure in Lambunot Tanoh Village, Kuta Baro District, Aceh Besar Regency. This study employed a case study method involving one patient diagnosed with hypertension. The intervention results showed that after four days of chayote juice therapy, the patient's blood pressure decreased from 160/100 mmHg to 130/80 mmHg, accompanied by a reduction in the pain scale to 2. These findings indicate that chayote juice is effective as an adjunctive non-pharmacological therapy for helping to control blood pressure. Patients with hypertension are expected to apply this non-pharmacological therapy regularly, in accordance with the education provided by nurses, to achieve optimal and sustainable blood pressure control.
