Asuhan Keperawatan pada Tn. F dengan Halusinasi Penglihatan Melalui Expressive Writing Therapy di Rumah Sakit Jiwa Aceh

Visual hallucinations are one of the most common positive symptoms found in patients with schizophrenia. At Aceh Mental Hospital, especially in the Jeumpa Room, hallucinations are the most frequently experienced problem by schizophrenia patients, with 19 out of 45 patients affected. If not properly managed, hallucinations can cause patients to lose self-control, exhibit violent behavior, and experience a decline in quality of life. This case study aims to provide comprehensive nursing care through the implementation of generalist therapy strategies and Expressive Writing Therapy (EWT) at Aceh Mental Hospital. The method used is a case study with four days of guidance for a patient experiencing visual hallucinations. The nursing interventions included a combination of Strategy Implementation (SP) 1-IV hallucinations and EWT. The case study results showed a decrease in the frequency of hallucinations after the intervention. Before therapy, the patient experienced hallucinations 1–4 times per day. After four days of treatment, the patient reported only one occurrence of visual hallucination. Based on the case study results, the application of a generalist therapy strategy combined with EWT can help reduce the signs and symptoms of visual hallucinations. Nurses at Aceh Mental Hospital are recommended to consistently implement the intervention strategies of generalist therapy and EWT.
