Asuhan Keperawatan pada Persalinan Prematur Terinduksi dengan Janin Suspek Trisomi 13 di RSUD dr. Zainoel Abidin Banda Aceh

Preterm labor at gestational age <37 weeks remains a major health problem due to high neonatal morbidity and mortality rates. Complications may increase when labor is induced, particularly in pregnancies with suspected genetic abnormalities such as trisomy 13, which has a poor prognosis and may cause maternal psychological distress. This case study aimed to describe the implementation of nursing care for a mother with induced preterm labor and a fetus suspected of trisomy 13 in the Delivery Room of Dr. Zainoel Abidin Regional Hospital. The method used was a case study applying the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Intranatal nursing diagnoses included labor pain, anxiety, risk of fetal injury, and impaired mother–infant attachment risk. Postnatal diagnoses included ineffective breastfeeding and readiness for enhanced family processes. Interventions consisted of non-pharmacological pain management, emotional support, expressed breast milk education, lactation massage, oxytocin massage, and warm compresses. Results showed reduced anxiety and pain, initiation of colostrum secretion, and improved family acceptance of the infant’s condition. Comprehensive nursing care was concluded to support maternal physical and psychological needs and enhance family readiness in managing a premature infant with suspected trisomy 13.
