Asuhan Keperawatan pada Pasien dengan Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) di Ruang PICU Rumah Sakit Umum Banda Aceh

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) in adolescents is a progressive and irreversible impairment of kidney function that has the potential to cause various serious systemic complications. This case study aims to describe the implementation of nursing care for patient An. M with CKD who was treated in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Dr. Zainoel Abidin Regional General Hospital, Banda Aceh. The assessment results identified six nursing diagnoses: impaired gas exchange, risk for electrolyte imbalance, risk for shock, nutritional deficit, ineffective peripheral tissue perfusion, and ineffective airway clearance. Nursing care was implemented over four days with a focus on monitoring respiratory status, hemodynamic stability, fluid and electrolyte balance, as well as early detection of complications such as sepsis. The evaluation results showed that two nursing diagnoses were partially resolved while four diagnoses remained unresolved. The implementation of a systematic, planned, and comprehensive nursing process plays an important role in maintaining the stability of patients with CKD and preventing further complications in patients treated in intensive care units.
