Asuhan Keperawatan pada Bayi dengan Gagal Napas Neonatus dan Stenosis Duodenum di Ruang NICU RSUD di Banda Aceh

Abstract

Duodenal stenosis is a congenital gastrointestinal disorder characterized by the constriction of the duodenal lumen, which obstructs the passage of food from the stomach to the small intestine and interferes with the newborn’s physiological adaptation. This case study aimed to examine nursing care of Baby R with respiratory failure and duodenal stenosis in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Regional General Hospital in Banda Aceh. The nursing problems identified in this case included decreased intracranial adaptive capacity, impaired spontaneous ventilation, impaired gas exchange, ineffective tissue perfusion, ineffective airway clearance, imbalanced nutrition: less than body requirements, risk for infection, and risk for delayed development. The nursing care administered to the newborn included the management and monitoring of elevated intracranial pressure, oxygen therapy, circulatory care, airway management, dietary management, infection control, and developmental care. Based on the evaluation, it was discovered that four problems had been partially addressed, and the others had not. As a result, more intervention and observation of Baby R are required. In order to support the stabilization of the neonate's clinical condition, nursing care management for newborns with duodenal stenosis and respiratory failure must be implemented comprehensively and continuously.
