Effect of Hematocrit Level of Blood Donors on Duration of Blood Collection

Abstract

duration of blood collection at the Blood Donation Unit (BDU) Indonesian Red Cross (IRC) Surakarta City. The type of research used in this study is descriptive quantitative. The population in this study were voluntary donors who passed the selection at BDU 0f Indonesian Red Cross Surakarta City with a range of 100 donors every day. The sample taken using the Isaac & Michael table with an error rate of 5% so that 78 samples were obtained. The data used are primary and secondary data processed using Microsoft Excel 2019 and IBM Statistic 23. The result showed that hypothesis testing using bivariate analysis with the Kendall-Tau test the correlation of 0.053 indicates a very weak positive correlation between hematocrit levels and duration of blood collection. In this study it show that the majority of donors are male, with age of donors in the range of 18-29 years, with the majority of blood type O rhesus positive, hematocrit levels with a range of 38-50%, hemoglobin levels with a range of 12,5-17,0 gr/dl and duration of blood collection with time <12 minutes. There is correlation between the effect of hematocrit levels on the duration of blood collection is very weak at BDU of IRC Surakarta City.
