Abstract

Pregnancy can be accompanied by various complications, one of which is hyperemesis gravidarum a condition characterized by excessive nausea and vomiting in pregnant women that significantly disrupts daily activities. This study aims to describe the nursing care provided to Mrs. S, who experienced hyperemesis gravidarum in Arafah 3 Ward at RSUDZA Banda Aceh. The research adopts a case study approach based on the nursing process. During the implementation, three primary nursing diagnoses were identified: nausea related to pregnancy, risk of nutritional deficit associated with psychological factors such as reluctance to eat, and anxiety due to lack of information. The nursing interventions included non-pharmacological therapy using ginger tea, encouraging the patient to eat small but frequent meals, and providing education about physiological changes commonly experienced during the first trimester of pregnancy, particularly nausea and vomiting. The evaluation after five visits showed signs of improvement; the patient reported that nausea was only occasional, vomiting had ceased, and her appetite had begun to improve.
