Abstract

As time progresses, people will gradually use new media, namely online media and social media with the superior speed of information received and slowly abandon old media. In the development of new media, a new product appears in new media in the form of podcasts. The aim of this research is to find out what attracts listeners so they want to listen to the podcast so that listeners' interest in digital podcast broadcasting will increase in the future. This type of research is library research by conducting a study or careful review of literature related to the subject of the research. Using a qualitative approach. The conclusions in this paper are: (1) Communication strategy is closely related to planning and management, thus communication strategy is the overall planning, tactics, methods that will be used to achieve the desired goals by paying attention to several aspects, communication strategy is a combination of planning and management, carrying out effective communication strategies in retaining listeners, the communication strategies used by Fajar, communication strategies are carried out to make it easier to retain listeners and provide information to listeners. The strategies used are audience recognition strategies, message preparation strategies, method determination strategies, media determination strategies. (2) the potential of podcasts lies in their excellence; can be accessed automatically, easily and the control is in the hands of the consumer, portable and always available. The formula for success in audio podcast content lies in light and attractive packaging with a clear 'value' offer for potential viewers. Audio podcast production should consider and explore the strengths and characteristics of audio formats as a medium for human communication. Next is to always follow changes in people's media behavior and habits, especially in consuming audio formats. (3) programming strategies can be carried out according to the characteristics of the medium and the targets to be achieved. The behavior of the new generation in using the internet means that various conventional media need to make quite radical adjustments.This study is a literature review employing a qualitative approach to explore communication strategies and the potential of podcasts as a communication medium. Communication strategies are considered an integral part of effective planning and management. In this context, communication strategies encompass planning, tactics, and methods to achieve communication goals while considering various aspects. Some strategies discussed include audience identification, message composition, method selection, and media choice. Podcasts are identified as a communication medium with great potential due to their flexibility, ease of access, and user-controlled content. The success formula for podcast content lies in engaging packaging that adds value to listeners and a deep understanding of the strengths and characteristics of the audio format. It is important to continuously monitor changes in media consumption behaviors and habits, especially regarding audio formats. Adaptation of programming strategies is also crucial in line with the characteristics of the medium and the desired objectives. In an era where the media consumption behaviors of new generations are continually evolving, radical adjustments to conventional media are imperative.
