Problematika Kewajiban Penggunaan Jilbab bagi Siswi di Sekolah Negeri

This article was written with the purpose of finding out how the problems that occur from the mandatory Jilbab rules in public schools. This study used a qualitative research method through the Literature Study technique by tracing previous similar studies. Some of the obligatory rules for Jilbab in public schools can be seen at SMK Negeri 2 Padang, SMA Negeri 1 Banguntapan, SMP Negeri 46 Jakarta Selatan, SD Negeri Cikini 2 Jakarta Pusat, SMP Negeri 74 Jakarta Timur, SMP Negeri 75 Jakarta Barat, and SMA 3 Negeri Langsa. This obligation has a positive impact, such as cultivating the habit of female students wearing Jilbab, but it also has a negative impact if it is done as coercion. This rule is controversial because it is considered contrary to the values of tolerance and human rights. The government then issued an SKB 3 Menteri which emphasized that there should be no coercion in the use of religious attributes in public schools. However, in the end the rule was canceled because it was considered contrary to higher rules. This rule needs special attention considering that this rule concerns human values as well as religious values.
