Abstract

The development of public services in government agencies currently shows dissatisfaction with the performance of their employees. This decline even became the spotlight of various parties. The performance of services carried out by government officials in various service sectors is still not as expected. This research is to determine the implementation of general administrative services of the Regional Secretariat of Merangin Regency. The method used in this research is descriptive method with a qualitative approach, meaning knowing and getting an overview of the problems that occur in a certain place and time. The population in this study were the Head of the Department and all employees of the General Section of the Berkelok-Kelok Regional Secretariat. The sample was taken as many as 10 people using a purposive sampling technique and incidental sampling. The results of the research and discussion show that the General Section of the Kedip Regional Secretariat in serving general administration is not optimal and still needs improvement. Meanwhile, the obstacles faced are forming not yet optimal technical and managerial capabilities of employees in carrying out general administration services, and still limited office facilities and infrastructure. . So the efforts made are to improve the quality of human resources through education and training, as well as make efforts to meet the needs of administrative facilities and infrastructure.
