Abstract

Hallucination are individuals’ situation having changes in the pattern and number of stimuli that begin internally or externally in their surroundings with a reduction, enlargement, distortion, or abnormal response to each stimulus. The method used is a case study through the application of generalist therapy (implementation strategy) and dhikr therapy as an alternative therapy for seven days consisting of seven meetings, held for 10-20 minutes for each meeting. The sample used in this case study was one patient with auditory hallucination who was treated at Aceh Mental Hospital. The results of this study indicated that after giving treatments of generalist therapy (implementation strategy) and dhikr therapy, there was a decrease in the frequency of hallucination, which previously appeared 4-5 times a day with a duration of 15-20 minutes, to once a day with a duration of 5 minutes. This study is concluded that the combination of generalist therapy (implementation strategy) and dhikr therapy is able to reduce the frequency of auditory hallucination in the patient and make him/her feel calmer. It is encouraged that Aceh Mental Hospital can implement and make dhikr therapy a routine program that can be implemented in the ward as an effort to reduce the symptoms of auditory hallucination.
