This study aimed to provide nursing care for patients with COPD experiencing ineffective breathing patterns through the application of the balloon blowing technique. Balloon blowing therapy is a modification of the pursed-lip breathing technique. Its mechanism is similar to deep-breathing exercises commonly used in adults but is adapted into a balloon-blowing activity, making the exercise more engaging and easier to perform. This study employed a case study design by implementing the nursing process, which included assessment, nursing diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. The results showed that after three days of implementing the balloon blowing technique, the patient's breathing pattern improved, and the severity of dyspnea decreased. In conclusion, the balloon blowing technique can be used as an effective intervention to manage ineffective breathing patterns in patients with COPD. This technique has proven to be a safe, simple, and practical non-pharmacological alternative that can be easily performed at home.
2026-06-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2026 Juhri Abadi, Riyan Mulfianda, Rita Zaharahttps://journal.csspublishing.com/index.php/arrazi/article/view/1302Asuhan Keperawatan Anak pada An. N with respiratory failure and aspiration pneumonia in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of RSUD dr. Zainoel Abidin Banda Aceh. This study used a case study design with a nursing process approach including assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected through observation, physical examination, medical record review, and collaboration with the healthcare team. The nursing assessment identified six nursing diagnoses, namely impaired gas exchange, ineffective airway clearance, nutritional deficit, risk for hypothermia, risk for developmental delay, and risk for aspiration. Nursing interventions were implemented through respiratory monitoring, oxygen therapy support using Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP), airway management, nutritional support, thermal protection, developmental care, and aspiration prevention. The evaluation showed improvements in oxygen saturation, respiratory effort, airway patency, and feeding tolerance. Risk factors for hypothermia, developmental disorders, and aspiration were successfully prevented during hospitalization. Comprehensive nursing care contributed to maintaining patient stability and supporting the recovery process during intensive care.
2026-06-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2026 Annisa Salsabila Salsabila, Inda Mariana Harahaphttps://journal.csspublishing.com/index.php/arrazi/article/view/1304Asuhan Keperawatan pada Tn. At Aceh Mental Hospital, especially in the Jeumpa Room, hallucinations are the most frequently experienced problem by schizophrenia patients, with 19 out of 45 patients affected. If not properly managed, hallucinations can cause patients to lose self-control, exhibit violent behavior, and experience a decline in quality of life. This case study aims to provide comprehensive nursing care through the implementation of generalist therapy strategies and Expressive Writing Therapy (EWT) at Aceh Mental Hospital. The method used is a case study with four days of guidance for a patient experiencing visual hallucinations. The nursing interventions included a combination of Strategy Implementation (SP) 1-IV hallucinations and EWT. The case study results showed a decrease in the frequency of hallucinations after the intervention. Before therapy, the patient experienced hallucinations 1–4 times per day. After four days of treatment, the patient reported only one occurrence of visual hallucination. Based on the case study results, the application of a generalist therapy strategy combined with EWT can help reduce the signs and symptoms of visual hallucinations. Nurses at Aceh Mental Hospital are recommended to consistently implement the intervention strategies of generalist therapy and EWT.
2026-06-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2026 Arini Mayan Fauni, Aiyub
