Abstract

The Mobile Unit is a blood donation program conducted either at specific institutions or using a blood donation bus, as part of a strategy by blood transfusion units to bring donor services closer to the community. In this context, the study aims to analyze how effectively the Mobile Unit optimizes blood service availability at UDD PMI Kota Surakarta during the second trimester of 2022. This research employs a qualitative approach using secondary data from registry books to identify the number of Mobile Unit activities and the availability of blood at UDD PMI Kota Surakarta during this period. The findings indicate that the Mobile Unit activities during the second trimester of 2022 significantly contributed to blood availability. In other words, the relationship between Mobile Unit activities and blood availability at UDD PMI Kota Surakarta is highly effective. The Mobile Unit not only met the blood supply needs efficiently but also greatly assisted UDD PMI in optimally fulfilling blood demand, thereby enhancing overall blood availability.
