Abstract

This research employs a quantitative approach through direct field observation to collect data on staple food price fluctuations. Data collection methods include observational techniques to observe factors influencing price fluctuations, alongside questionnaires to gather perceptions and responses from the community regarding staple food prices. The primary objective of this study is to understand the aspects of staple food price fluctuations in specific food areas. The research findings indicate that selling prices and purchasing power significantly influence sales turnover fluctuations, particularly during religious holidays. Staple food price levels also have a significant impact on the supply and demand of these goods in the market. Higher prices tend to result in insignificant changes in supply and demand, which in turn can affect local economic conditions and market strategies of buyers and sellers. This study provides deeper insights into the dynamics of staple food price fluctuations and their implications for food markets in specific regions.
